It’s one of the most basic rules of electronics: Keep them dry.

Keep your radio away from the bath, keep your toaster clear of the sink, don’t spill your coffee on your laptop. They’ll short out and be ruined — or, if things go especially badly, maybe they’ll electrocute you.

Engineers at an Intel lab in Hillsboro are disregarding this timeworn advice, taking expensive computers built for data centers and giving them a dunk to cool them off.
