West Ham United women’s team trio Constance Picaud-Inconnu, Estelle Cascarino and Kelly Gago helped France to a thumping 9-0 friendly win over Latvia on Saturday evening. Forward Gago was among the scorers, striking her fourth goal for her country within 14 minutes of her half-time introduction, to make it 7-0 at the Stade Francis-Le Basser in Laval. Defender Cascarino also played the second 45 minutes of the game, while goalkeeper Picaud-Inconnu featured for the first half. France have already qualified for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, alongside Denmark, Germany and Spain, and Hammers defender Laia Codina was in action for the latter in the first of their friendly double-header against the United States. Codina started and completed the full 90 minutes at Audi Field in Washington DC, as goals from Patricia Guijarro and Eva Navarro sealed a 2-0 triumph, despite Athenea del Castillo’s late sending-off. The two teams will reconvene in the early hours of Wednesday 14 October, with their second friendly set for a 12midnight kick-off at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania. Over in Africa, Inès Belloumou was among the scorers as Algeria thrashed Central African Republic 8-0 in the teams' 2028 CAF Women's Olympic qualifying tournament second-round first-leg clash. Our No7 netted in the 67th minute, to make it 6-0 in Algiers. Les Vertes will look to seal their place in the last 16, where they would face either Burkina Faso or Equatorial Guinea, when they contest their second leg against Central African Republic in Tizi Ouzou at 6pm BST on Tuesday 13 October. #westham #wsl #woso #footballtiktok #womensfootball
