HYROX PRO NYC 🏁

1:11:22 - 1st u24 / 8th overall 🥇

Kicking off the 23/24 season just two weeks after WC was not my intentions but this is the only HYROX event that's in my home state (kinda). The Meadowlands is also where I ran my first race back in October. So, it was a no brainer that I had to toe the line.

If you raced NYC or saw the course map, you'd see that it's an unfavorable 4.25 laps per 1km. My total run time took a hit (+1:29 of WC) because of the additional turns and more congestion on a smaller course. I finished my fourth HYROX, second Pro race, in 1:11:22 (+2:10 of WC). I was able to win my age group (8th overall) which punches my ticket to the 2024 World Championship. Hopefully it'll be in the States. 🤞🏼

Going into this race I had one main goal; Use what was learned from WC and perform at a much higher level. I wanted to correct the mistakes I made early in Manchester that caused me to suffer through that race. Although my finishing time does not reflect a PR, I do believe I executed a much better race from start to finish in NYC.

I stuck to my race strategy and gameplan for the entire race. Made conscious decisions on where to push and remained in control. I am pleased with this race but also know that there are many areas that I need to dramatically improve on for next season. I need to get faster and stronger to compete in the Pro division. I know markus_frison will help get there. That's simply #TheFrisonMethod.

After a long and grueling HYROX season, I can confidently say that this was a tremendous rookie year. I learned, grew, and traveled a great deal developing a new found a love for this sport. Across my four races I saw three cities, another country, and met countless amazing people who are also stud athletes. I took home three 1st place banners, competed in two championship events, and claimed one title. Oh, and I had an absolute blast doing it with momma_golik by my side. 🩵

"Time for a HYROX off-season. The season was long. You’ll come back much stronger next season."
- Markus

I'm ready to put in the work to make that statement true.
