Please welcome Victoria Police’s newest recruits – two 6-month-old Belgian Malinois pups.

They will be joining the ranks of the existing unit of Special Operations Group (SOG) dogs, who became the first tactical unit in Australia to introduce dogs several years ago.

Their agility, keen sense of smell, and ability to navigate small spaces make them ideal for keeping our specialist police safe in high-risk situations.

They’re even trained to fast-rope from a helicopter with their handler which means they can respond quickly when time is critical.

SOG handlers and dogs work closely together to keep the Victorian community safe in critical and high-risk incidents, both on land and at sea.

Thinking about joining these pups in Victoria’s police force? Follow the link in our bio.
