Family violence does not discriminate and knows no boundaries. It affects all communities, all backgrounds, ages, sexual orientation and genders and it is not confined to couples.
We know that people from our LGBTIQ communities are vulnerable to this crime and can experience additional barriers to reporting.
Victoria Police remains committed to preventing and responding to family violence in all its forms.
We have more than 430 LGBTIQ liaison officers (GLLOs) across the state who are focused on strengthening relationships with our LGBTIQ community, so they feel more confident in reporting all crimes to police.
Victoria Police is proud to support LGBTI Domestic Violence Awareness Day.
We’re here for you. #ImHereForYou
