The AP declared Michigan state Rep. Donavan McKinney, a Democratic Socialists of America candidate, the winner in a primary race for a U.S. House seat in a district anchored by Detroit. McKinney is expected to easily win the general election, and the victory, in what was a proxy fight between the party’s progressive and establishment wings, will help the DSA grow its ranks in Congress. WSJ’s Eliza Collins recently sat down with McKinney to discuss how the once-fringe organization is upsetting establishment politicians around the country and gaining steam among left-leaning voters. #midterms2026 #michigan #politics #democraticsocialism #wallstreetjournal
