Philly’s Historical Commission will vote on whether to create a historic district in Washington Square West on Sept. 13. The local civic association has been working to get the designation for years, but not everyone wants it. Some quick stats: 🔹 The district would span ~26 city blocks. 🔹 More than half the properties are already on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places. 🔹 It’s highlighted years of significance would run from 1740 to 1985. We unpack the controversial designation at the link in our bio. #philadelphia #philly #historicdistrict
