🎉 It's Frederick Douglass' birthday today Feb. 14! And the last day for #HBSU #MSI students to apply for a FREE study abroad in London this summer.
When Juan Jose Duran, a student at @CSUSM, went on his study abroad, he had no idea the self-realization he would experience. As a
child, he grew up working with his father underneath the scorching sun. While his friends were sleeping in on the weekends, he was hard at work in the field, hauling heavy bags for hours. At first, Juan did not appreciate his father’s life of labor. But Juan’s
#FDGF experience in Cape Town helped him to see that his father gave up his dreams to provide for his son and to give him the opportunities he didn’t have. By working hard for his son, Juan could dream. Juan says: “I am learning how to be a global leader and
how to use mindfulness and creativity to approach and interact with new people from different cultures.” ***** Watch the entire video here: http://bit.ly/JuanJoseDuran ***** The Frederick Douglass Global Fellows program is a unique opportunity for self-exploration, cultural learning, travel & more!
