In 1972, Clara Peoples and Ora Lee Green organized Portland’s first Juneteenth parade and public celebration. This year, Juneteenth Oregon celebrates with a parade Saturday and festival that lasts all weekend.

Throughout Oregon and southwest Washington events will be held to celebrate and commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021.

In the link in our bio you'll find a guide to where you can participate across the state.
