## Caption

Canadians and New Zealanders today are celebrating Pink Shirt Day, created to support anti-bullying and inclusivity initiatives. While this holiday is recognized mostly in schools, as advocates for positive senior living, we must also draw attention to elder abuse, which shows up in many forms — just like classroom bullying. 

Elder abuse can happen in a home or community setting and be committed by a family member, paid caregiver, someone in a trusting role or even someone in the general public. The bullying behavior can be physical, emotional or financial abuse, neglect or other unkind behaviors. 

Together, let’s raise awareness about elder abuse by having active conversations about the treatment of our loved ones and the ways we can counteract any wrongdoings we see or hear. 

We’re in this together.
