So thankful for all the people at orthofixspine !!! Their creativity, ingenuity and and perseverance has given people like me the opportunity to continue a healthy and active life.

We joke that I’m an “Orthofix Unicorn” because I have two of their products in my neck, and I used another to help stimulate my bone growth after the fusion. The trifecta I suppose!

It was so fun to speak at their National Sales Meeting, being able to directly thank the people who have helped me continue strong on my journey as mom AND athlete.

Thank you Orthofix!!!

Olympian and Orthofix Spine Patient Laura Wilkinson, lala_the_diver, was a surprise guest at this year’s Orthofix Spine National Sales Meeting. The Olympic Gold Medalist shared her incredible story and what drove her in pursuit of a fourth Olympic appearance in the Tokyo Games.
 
Following a successful cervical fusion surgery to repair damage to her neck from years of diving and hitting the water at high speeds, Laura’s incredible comeback effort at 43 years old is inspirational. We are proud to have aided in her recovery and been part of her journey. An Orthofix cervical plate system stabilized Laura’s spine, a tissue graft aided in her bone fusion, and a CervicalStim™ device stimulated bone growth.
 
In appreciation of the team helping her get back on the diving platform, Laura shared the Gold Medal experience with Orthofix Global Spine President Kevin Kenny. All attendees at the meeting also received a copy of Laura’s book, “Life at 10 Meters: Lessons from an Olympic Champion.”
