This is what joy looks like after months of heartache.

On May 15, 2013, we officially started the process to adopt a little girl from Ethiopia. Arella just turned two years old, Zoe had only been home from China for six months, and in three days I would find out I was pregnant with Zadok.
.
It was a slow process to get started, but finally after three and a half years of waiting we were matched with cutest little baby girl! She didn’t have any hair yet, but had the most kissable looking lips and sweet baby chubbiness!
.
What has followed since then has gotten harder with each passing month. To say it’s been a roller coaster of ups and downs would be sugar coating it. On many levels this has been one of the most difficult things I’ve had to endure. Finally in January we went to Ethiopia, met our daughter and had to leave without her.
.
But God was not done. He was so good to me in the dark days that have followed. Shining a small light on His word, reminding me of His faithfulness, that He hears me, and He WILL answer. .
And TODAY the light began to shine much brighter. Although we do not have an official court date, events have unfolded that are allowing us to go back to Ethiopia next week! We hope and pray to stand before the judge and become our little girl’s legal and forever parents!

Please pray with us that God would make our path smooth and straight, even amid all of the political unrest there right now. .
And thank you to each and every one of you who has stood alongside us, prayed, sent encouraging messages, and remembered our little girl halfway across the world. .
