Velotric Nomad 2X Bike Review - Full Suspension, Powerful and Fun

Full air suspension on a $2,399 e-bike shouldn't exist. The Velotric Nomad 2X does it anyway — full review.

In this review we break down the Velotric Nomad 2X and the spec that makes it stand out: full air suspension at a price where almost everyone else gives you a basic coil fork and nothing out back. You get 120mm of adjustable travel up front with both damping and air pressure dialable, plus 80mm of air suspension in the rear — the kind of setup normally reserved for bikes well north of $3,000. On 26 x 4.0" puncture-resistant fat tires it changes how the bike handles washboard roads, sand, snow, and rocky doubletrack. Driving it is a 750W hub motor peaking at 1,400W with 105 Nm of torque, fed by an 801.6Wh UL-certified removable battery good for a tested 68 miles on flat ground. Class 1, 2, or 3 adjustable with a 28 mph top speed. Then there's the hauling: 560 lbs of total payload, a 120 lb MIK HD rear rack, and 1,000 lbs of towing capacity, so a loaded trailer of camp gear is genuinely on the table. SensorSwap lets you flip between torque and cadence assist on the fly, Stealth Mode kills the display brightness and lights with one tap for quiet dawn scouting, Apple Find My tracks it if it wanders, and an IPX6 rating means you can hose the mud off.
