Stellar Flexlight Jacket Review

**The Stellar Flexlight is stretchy active insulation that bridges fleece and shell — breathable warmth for ski touring, skinning, and cold starts. Full review.**

In this review, we break down Stellar Equipment's Flexlight Hood — the Swedish brand's "crossover" active-insulation layer that fills the gap between a fleece and a shell. The main fabric is a Japanese woven 3D-stretch twill (86 g/m², 81% nylon / 19% elastane, DWR-treated) over a featherweight 40 g/m² spiral-fiber synthetic insulation that's built to breathe while you work. It blocks wind, sheds drizzle, and moves like a midlayer — making it a do-everything piece for cold starts and shifting alpine weather.

What we get into:
✅ The 3D-stretch fabric + spiral-fiber insulation — warmth without bulk
✅ Breathability for high-output days (skinning, touring, trail)
✅ Articulated fit + no-lift gusseted underarms for full mobility
✅ Features: fixed elastic-bound hood, zipped chest pocket, 2 zipped hand pockets
✅ Outer layer in fall/spring, mid-layer in deep winter
✅ Where it fits in the Stellar System™ — and who it's for
