“Nothing compares to seeing youth come together and put in the hard work to make an idea come to life."

Through more than 2,100 volunteer hours, Kaden Espino has strengthened his Los Angeles community. Since high school, Kaden has given his time to help people by:

- Responding to local disasters.
- Teaching children how to prepare for emergencies.
- Mentoring his fellow volunteers.
- Supporting and organizing youth events.

Today, Kaden is a youth engagement lead supporting 2,000 youth volunteers with the RedCrossLA. He also serves as the youth representative on the region's board of directors where he advocates for youth programs and highlights the impact of their service.

Kaden encourages other young people to step up and get involved — even if it feels intimidating.

"Don't be afraid to try something new and step out of your comfort zone," Kaden said. "Every experience, even the ones that are unfamiliar, is a chance to grow. If you come across something challenging, use it as an opportunity to build skills that will strengthen your ability to inspire and support your community.” 🫶🏽
