Small acts can make a big impact — just ask Henry Benware. ❤️

He was grateful to receive a sweet bear and financial assistance from Red Cross caseworker Barbara Jurgen recently after his home was damaged by the Vermont floods last year. His cellar flooded, destroying his wood-burning furnace, food and other items he stored there.

This support from the Red Cross has meant a lot to him, especially now that he lives alone — his wife of 68 years passed away this year. He says he misses her every day but is getting by.

“I appreciate how you helped me and all you did for me,” Henry said.

Thanks to generous donors, we’re able to provide Henry with recovery assistance to help him replace the items he lost and purchase essential things like food and clothing.

These extreme weather events continue to increase in frequency and intensity due to the climate crisis. This means more people like Henry will require our help year after year. You can help ensure people receive the comfort and assistance they desperately need after a disaster by donating. Tap the button on this post to give today.
