Nearly 100 Red Cross disaster responders are working nonstop in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas to support people affected by the #SmokehouseCreekFire. Disaster teams are distributing thousands of emergency supplies and other critical services throughout the affected areas.

Changes in the environment due to the climate crisis are heightening the risk of wildfires in the U.S. and around the world. The Smokehouse Creek Fire has already been named the largest fire in Texas history and has burned more than a million acres.

Those affected should continue to listen to local evacuation orders and not return home unless officials say it’s safe to do so. To locate available Red Cross services in your area, call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
