Aubrey celebrated her final cancer treatment last month. 💛🎉

For more than two years — 844 days to be exact — Aubrey battled B-cell lymphoma. She underwent surgery, multiple lumbar punctures, four hospital stays for chemotherapy, and a port removal.

On exceptionally bad days, the normally active 8-year-old experienced extreme fatigue. Her mother, Amber, learned it meant she had low hemoglobin levels and needed a blood transfusion.

“One day in Nov. 2022, it came out of nowhere,” Amber said. “Her numbers kept dropping — it was so scary. She needed two blood transfusions and platelets in a matter of days. I’m so thankful the blood products were so accessible. She got them within a few hours.”

Once Aubrey received the transfusions, her mom said it was like “an instant recharge.” This experience made Amber realize the importance of blood donors.

“Seeing Aubrey’s cancer journey has prompted friends and family to donate in her honor,” she said. “There are so many people who need blood transfusions to save their lives.”
