What would we do without Red Cross instructors like ✨ Venus Jones? ✨

Venus teaches a range of courses like Wilderness and Remote First Aid, Basic Life Support and Babysitting for Instructors — to name a few — but she also has firsthand experience in putting her training and skills to use.
 
While at a gathering, she witnessed an infant choking and struggling to breathe and stepped in to save their life.

“After making an initial assessment and obtaining consent, I jumped right into it with the ‘infant choking method,’ recalled Venus. “After a set of five stomach thrusts and five back blows, I heard a clear cry which was music to my ears. The baby was safe and sound.”

It’s people like Venus who make a lifesaving impact during times of crisis. Her personal experience and love for teaching motivate her to ensure anyone who attends her class has the tools and knowledge to save a life.

“Whether it's providing personalized one-on-one training or offering extra help after classes, I've learned how important it is to make myself available to all my students' needs. In a time where the unthinkable can happen, it’s necessary to train as many people as possible on how to save lives.”
