## Caption

Art as history.

Visit “Lady Washington’s Reception (After Daniel Huntington)” by Alexander Hay Ritchie in our Director’s Gallery. This print showcases the noble status of the Washingtons, and one of Martha Washington’s levees.

A diagram accompanies this print to note the guests of Martha Washington. Are there any you recognize?

Come get a history lesson through art!
