Baked Ziti Mac & Cheese 🍝🧀🔥 Two classics…combined into something ridiculous.. [RECIPE BELOW] 1️⃣ Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook 1 lb penne pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside. 2️⃣ In a large skillet, cook 4–6 spicy Italian sausages (casings removed) over medium-high heat until browned. Set aside. 3️⃣ In the same pan, sauté ½ chopped shallot + 3 cloves garlic until fragrant. 4️⃣ Add 14 oz crushed tomatoes + 14 oz diced tomatoes. Season with red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and fresh basil. Let simmer until slightly thickened (you don’t want it too watery). Add the cooked sausage back in and set aside. 5️⃣ In a separate large skillet, melt 1 stick of butter. Whisk in ¼ cup flour to form a roux. 6️⃣ Slowly add 12 oz evaporated milk, whisking continuously. Let cook on medium heat ~10 minutes until thickened. 7️⃣ Pour in 3 cups heavy cream and continue stirring until slightly thickened. (Be patient) 8️⃣ Add in 8 oz pepper-infused smoked gouda + 4-8oz mozzarella + 2 slices of American cheese. (Add you cheeses in increments so you can decide how think you want it) Stir until smooth and creamy. (Optional but clutch: add 1 packet chicken bouillon for extra flavor.) 9️⃣ Add cooked pasta into the cheese sauce and mix until fully coated. 🔟 In a large baking dish, layer: • Cheesy pasta • Ziti meat sauce • Extra cheese Repeat until the dish is full, finishing with a heavy layer of cheese on top. 1️⃣1️⃣ Bake at 350°F for ~45 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly to your liking. 1️⃣2️⃣ Let it rest a few minutes… then serve and ENJOY 🤤🔥 #comfortfoodrecipes #macandcheese #pastareels #bakedziti #macandcheesemonday
