We loved the convenience of the location! The beach was right outside of the hotel, there were plenty of food options around, the staff was extremely friendly, and there are a lot of kid-friendly/family activities nearby.

I will be honest and say that the rooms could use some touch ups. There was a lot of handyman patch ups that caught our eye. But we also do lot of carpentry work ourselves so maybe it was just noticeable to us!

Overall if you’re looking for a good priced family resort on the beach I’d recommend The Island!

⁉️ What are some hotel/resort must-haves for your vacation stay⁉️

Pro Tip: (Near Destin, Florida) It took maybe 10 minutes to drive from our hotel to Destin. Just don’t attempt to drive during rush hour times (7-9am, 5-7pm) because traffic gets congested!
