🍐✨ Red wine-poached pears + cinnamon-ginger crumble = next-level dessert perfection! Elegant, cozy, and easier than it looks 😎 A fall favorite with a warm, spiced twist@sebastian_fitarau #PoachedPears #FallDessert #ComfortFood Serves 4 🍷 For the poached pears: 4 whole pears 2 cups red wine (500 ml) ½ cup granulated sugar (100 g) 1–2 whole cloves 1 cinnamon stick Water, as needed to cover the pears 1–2 tablespoons cornstarch (for thickening the glaze) Cold water, to dissolve cornstarch 🍪 For the cinnamon-ginger crumble: ¾ cup all-purpose flour (100 g) ¼ cup brown sugar (50 g) 3½ tablespoons cold butter, cubed (50 g) 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon ½ teaspoon ground ginger Pinch of salt 🥄 Instructions: Peel the pears, keeping them whole. In a large saucepan, combine red wine, sugar, cloves, cinnamon stick, and the pears. Add enough water to just cover the pears. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer gently for about 20 minutes, until the pears are tender. Test with a toothpick. Carefully remove the pears from the liquid and set aside on a plate. Reduce the poaching liquid: Continue cooking the wine mixture for 10–15 minutes, until it thickens slightly. Thicken the glaze: In a small bowl, dissolve 1–2 tablespoons of cornstarch in a bit of cold water. Stir into the hot wine mixture, whisking until glossy and thickened. Return the pears to the pot and cook for another 1–2 minutes, turning occasionally to coat them evenly with the glaze. 🔥 Prepare the crumble: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and salt. Add cold butter cubes and rub with your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Spread the crumble on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, stirring halfway through for even browning.
