I was going to record a voiceover to summarise the beautiful evening with @maccosmetics and @Bemi Orojuogun but honestly, the audio from the night says it all. You can literally feel the joy, laughter, and love on that bus, so I had to let it speak for itself.   This was one of those events that just fills you up. It was intimate, warm, and full of community, all on a bus with the incredible Bemi Orojuogun, our beloved #busaunty She’s so loved, and it’s easy to see why. A lot of people know her from her viral videos, but to us, she represents so much more. She reminds us of our mums, our aunties, the women who raised us, the elders who hold our stories. Speaking with her and hearing her journey was emotional as she radiates grace and joy.   What really moved me was seeing her live her passion so freely. She’s proof that it’s never too late to follow what you love, and that when you do, the possibilities are endless. To see her collaborating with an iconic brand like MAC, it’s such a full-circle moment.   And speaking of MAC, that brand holds so much nostalgia for us. Like @Iman Leila said, “I know for a damn fact, MAC was your first brand.” It’s true. MAC was one of the first to really cater to us, to see us. I remember my mum and aunties always having a MAC compact or lip liner, and it was one of the first brands I ever added to my makeup kit when I started out 14 years ago.   I left the event feeling so inspired and so grateful for the friendships, the laughter, and the genuine sense of community that exists in this industry. Thank you to the MAC team for creating such a beautiful space to celebrate us and Aunty. It was a night of culture, storytelling, and connection that I’ll never forget.
