Happy heavenly birthday, George Michael! Today, we're taking a look back at his 2006 interview with ITN's Nina Hossain, where he refused to bow to the negative press attention he was receiving around his private life. The music icon, who began his career in pop duo Wham! before venturing into a solo career, was known for his hit songs Faith, Freedom! '90 and Careless Whisper. George publicly came out as gay in April 1998 and became an active LGBTQ+ rights campaigner. He sadly passed away on Christmas Day 2016 ❤️ #georgemichael #happybirthday #onthisday #lgbtqhistory #queertiktok
