This is one of the best ways to start a garden and adding cheap materials to fill up your raised beds. I love growing food in raised beds as you are more in control of the growing conditions of your plants.  Hugelkultur which means hill mound, is a technique involving different materials to layer the bottom part of your raised beds, providing moisture retention, building fertility and a great way to recycle woody debris. Every year you will simply top up your raised beds with a thin layer of compost.  Thanks to @Vegega  for sending the raised beds which will last for a long time and add a touch of beauty to the garden. MATERIALS USED: - vegega raised beds - Logs - Twigs - Spoiled hail - Comfrey - Organic compost (@PlantGrow ) NOTES: - I used comfrey because it’s growing abundant at the allotment and it’s a great source of nutrients for the garden - I add woochips on the pathways to retain moisture, feed and improve the amount of microorganisms. You can get them for free asking your local tree surgeon.
