The worst day of the year for me anyway. January 15th is the day my brother Jeremy left this world. He wasn't sick, or in an accident. He was taken. There was no time to say goodbye. He was just gone. He didn't want to leave his children, his family, his enormous amount of friends but he didn't get a say in the matter. He didn't get a choice about his own life. That still to this day pisses me off and probably always will. I will always be grieving for him. I don't think there's any other way to get through it. 

I cannot believe he's almost been gone for five full years. It's not fair. It's not right. There was no justice. I'll never forget hearing the words not guilty. I'll never forget the look on the face of the guy who took him away when he heard it. I'll never forget the look on my family's faces. I will never get the images from the trial out of my brain. I will never stop hurting. I will never be silenced. I'll never stop advocating for victims. He may have taken my brother away but he didn't take my voice and I guarantee you I can be louder than he is.
