Yes, I'm a millennial. Yes, I work from a coffee shop most days. And yes, I drop ~$8 on a matcha and a snack while I'm there.

Honestly? Worth every penny.

I work remotely and LOVE it, but I'm also someone who gets mentally stimulated by getting out of the house and seeing other humans. When I really need to lock in, I don't necessarily need to talk to people. I just need their energy around me.

A coffee shop gives me that little dose of human interaction without the distraction of actually being around people I know.

I still get the ritual of “going to work” that tells my brain Okay. We are working now. But I get to do it somewhere beautiful, with a yummy drink, surrounded by people.

No laundry I suddenly decide needs folding. No household task that becomes extremely urgent the second I have something difficult to do. No wandering into my pantry for the 47th time.

Just a few hours to absolutely lock in.

I used to think the best part of remote work was not having to go anywhere. Now I think it's having the freedom to figure out where you do your best work and going there.

So if spending $8 makes my day-to-day a little more productive AND adds a little whimsy to my life... then take my $$. 🤷‍♀️
