Acne Scarring, Prior Facelift and Aging Face

A stunning 51-year-old patient reached out to me recently, concerned about acne scarring, aging, and the results of a previous facelift. 

Her previous facelift likely focused on the lateral aspects of her face but did not adequately address the medial areas, which tend to show more significant aging over time. She deserved to feel like the best version of herself, so we took on the challenge with a carefully tailored approach.

I performed an extended deep plane facelift, along with a temple and deep neck lift, to elevate and reposition her platysma, SMAS, and orbicularis muscles—bringing back the balance and vitality in her face. I also shortened her upper lip to create a more youthful and harmonious profile. 

For the aggressively treated acne scarring, I used Stromal Vascular Fraction (SVF) from her own fat, tapping into her body’s natural stem cells to restore a softer, smoother look.

Now, six weeks post-surgery, she’s beginning to see the results. She’s looking refreshed, but a little different at this point due to the significant fibrosis we had to work around. Her platysma-SMAS layers were rigid, but I assured her that in the weeks to come, her face will continue to settle into an even more natural and refined look.

She’s overseas now, but kindly shared some photos, and it’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do. Every face tells a story, and this one required a blend of an aesthetics and reconstruction to bring out her true beauty.
