After taking last year off, the Grey Area Music Festival is resurfacing as a one day event happening Saturday, August 14, in Lone Tree at Flat Black Studios.

Grey Area is the only music festival in the state that happens at a recording studio, and it has a special vibe due to the fact that studio owner, engineer and festival organizer Luke Tweedy exclusively books bands to play the event who have recorded there.

Follow the link in our bio to find a playlist he made previewing the lineup, and to hear his conversation with IPR's Tony Dehner.

Spoiler: the playlist features a wide variety of genres, ranging from Americana to rock to what Tweedy calls "stoner doom stuff."
