Iowa has had a devastating 10 days since a derecho passed through Monday Aug. 10, toppling trees and leaving more than 400,000 Iowans without power. ⠀
⠀
Its been a hard week and a half for many, but Iowans are coming together to help each other. #IowaStrong ⠀
⠀
We wanted to shine a spotlight on the work willieraysq is doing. ⠀
⠀
Willie Ray's Q Shack is a Cedar Rapids barbeque stand that has stepped up to help hungry Iowans as they navigate clean-up. According to Willie Rays' Facebook page, and thanks to community donations, they are able to serve roughly 400 meals a day since last week. ⠀
⠀
Jason Everett lives in Cedar Rapids and said in a Facebook post "Willie Fairley (is) seizing the moment, using (his) resources and skills to tirelessly serve the community." ⠀
