These pics say it all 😍 Drop some claps in the comments for 2021 Educator Innovation Award winner Soji Megbowon villagetisa (educator at Jakande Estate Comprehensive Senior College, Nigeria)! 👏👏👏

Our Educator Innovation Awards recognize teachers or program coordinators who bring the Ocean Awareness Contest into their classrooms (IRL or virtually), empowering their students to speak up and stand up for our blue planet 🌍 📣

Our 2021 Ocean Awareness Contest theme, Water Rising, focused not just on the ocean, but on water in its many forms, asking young artists what stories need to be told to protect this precious element 💧

Using it as a way to dig deep into water issues with students, Soji brought the Ocean Awareness Contest to his entire school community through group projects and essay writing, even sharing about it at a community center. He took his class on virtual field trips to different places across Africa, teaching them about problems like petroleum spillage due to mining activities, and introduced them to young people who are working to fix water and climate problems.
