Announcing this year’s Educator Innovation Award winners! 🥳 BIG congrats to Dominique, Stephanie, Kristie, Vals, Soji, and Megan on their accomplishment 👏👏👏

Our Educator Innovation Awards recognize teachers or program coordinators who bring the Ocean Awareness Contest into their classrooms (IRL or virtually), empowering their students to speak up and stand up for our blue planet 🌍 📣

Our 2021 Ocean Awareness Contest theme, Water Rising, focused not just on the ocean, but on water in its many forms. By using the Contest as a teaching tool, our Educator Innovation Award winners taught their students about water’s connection to climate change, health, justice, and culture, and encouraged them to tell the stories that need to be told to protect this precious element 💧

Working as an educator this past year has been TOUGH, but these teachers went above and beyond to engage their students in water conservation issues by organizing virtual field trips and guest speakers, adopting technology tools, and leveling the playing field by making sure all of their students had the supplies they needed.

We’re super proud of them! 😊
