For #zeroemissionsday, we wanted to share with you this award-winning piece by Clarice Chung lalartic (14, Nevada) from our 2020 Ocean Awareness Contest.

Just like the pieces in the game of Jenga that Clarice drew, many factors contribute to climate change, like coal-powered plants, the cars we drive, forests burning down, and more. It can be overwhelming.

But the fact that so many different factors are at play (pun intended) can also be a source of hope. With each factor that we address--how much we use cars, for example--the looming tower that is the climate crisis gets weaker and weaker.

Together, we can bring it toppling down.

Not just today, but every day, we encourage you to:

📣 ➡️ Speak up for all we can save on this precious blue planet. If you're 11-18, participating in our 2022 Ocean Awareness Contest: THE FUNNY THING ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE, is a great opportunity to do that.
✍️ ➡️ Reach out to your elected officials to let them know that reaching net-zero is important to you 📱
✊ ➡️ Join climate movements/projects in your community like fridaysforfuture, sunrisemvmnt or an allwecansave climate circle
🚌 ➡️ Opt for public transit and/or ride your bike whenever you can 🚴
🔌 ➡️ Turn off lights and unplug electricals when you're not using them

💡 And more! Lot's of ideas are being shared today, so pick a few and start from there.
