This #EarthDay, what path do we choose? ⚖️ That's the question 2020 Ocean Awareness Contest Distinguished Honorable Mention Award winner Sydney Madera (16, Washington DC) asks with her piece ☝️, "It's Not Up to Fate."

🌎 "In my work, the Earth slowly rots, but it also heals itself, representing how our actions can lead to two outcomes: the stopping of climate change or the prolongation of it," she wrote.

🌊 "If the oceans continue to fill with pollution, the world’s biggest carbon sinks will cease to function and production of the majority of the globe’s oxygen will stop.

👏 I want to communicate how it is becoming increasingly important for society to take climate change seriously, that it isn’t something that we can brush aside and hope will solve itself."

You heard Syndey 📣 We can't keep ignoring this #climatecrisis. It's time to act! Check out aquasana's list of events and ideas, 🔗 in our bio!
