Meet tayllorjpoetry, our Voice of the Sea Award partner in the 2021 Ocean Awareness Contest! 😃 Whether you’ve seen her in our posts before, or experienced her performance of “Water is Rising” at our last Water Wednesdays Webinar, we wanted to make a proper intro. Swipe to learn more about her! 👉

“Spoken word poetry saved my life and gave me a voice to not only speak up for myself but also for the things I believe in,” Tayllor told us 💙 When our Founder and President Linda Cabot discovered her, Tayllor was a Junior in high school and had just started performing her pieces. Now a published poet, she’s been writing and performing her own poetry and plays for over ten years ❗ and guides youth to discover and speak their truth through this awesome art form. Her mission: to find new ways poetry can empower the voiceless, soothe the wounded, and disturb the status quo, setting us all on a path to freedom ✊

Interested in giving spoken word poetry a try? Learn more about our new Voice of the Sea Award recognizing spoken word entries to our Ocean Awareness Contest, 🔗 in bio!

Show Tayllor some love in the comments, and if you have any q’s for her, feel free to hit her up in her DMs!
