Sheesh! What a #bop 😅 Congratulations to our 2020 Ocean Awareness Contest Gold Award Winner in Senior Music Zanaiah Billups (17, Georgia)! Between her #bars, moves, and beautiful voice, she had us hooked. Now we can't get her piece "Heroes" out of our heads!

"The climate crisis has left people in fear, destruction, and despair in every corner of the world." Zanaiah writes. "It was clear that I had to center my work on a concept that has given me endless courage my whole life: heroism."

Exploring their importance in the face of crisis, Zanaiah mentions more than a few #heroes throughout her piece, both fictional and real: Aquaman, Frozone, gretathunberg, aoc, X-men, etc. (bonus points to whoever is able to list ALL of them in the comments 👇)

She leaves us with the following message: "We are in for the battles of our lives. We are the heroes who will save generations to come, and heroes must fight together." ✊
