For World Oceans Week, we are honoring the amazing marine life that call our ocean home. 🌊🏠🌊 All of youth artwork featured here was created for our annual Ocean Awareness Contest. If you're a student between the ages of 11-18, check out our 2020 Contest, which is accepting submissions through June 15th!

Fish are amazing creatures! An incredibly diverse group of animals, fish have extraordinary abilities such as: changing colors and patterns on their skin (filefish, flounder, and more), changing genders (clownfish), migrating an eye from one side of the body to another (flounder), and soaring out of the water (flying fish). They are basically superheroes! And they can even do many things humans can do, such as: using tools to solve problems (sheepshead), recognizing faces (cichlids), and working together to solve problems. .
Fish are also a crucial part of the marine ecosystem. When fish are removed from the ocean for food or killed by pollution, it fundamentally changes the way the rest of the ecosystem functions. 🌎
