## Caption

Torrential rain and flash floods threaten much of the tri-state area again Thursday, a fourth consecutive soaker that could be more powerful than the scattered storms of the last few days. Some spots outside of the city could also see severe storms develop later on, Storm Team 4 says.

The National Weather Service warned of a strong thunderstorm that would blow through the greater New York City area right as the evening rush is set to start. Meanwhile, flight delays were nearing 3 hours at Newark and more than an hour at JFK — both significantly better than LaGaurdia.

Storm Team 4 says some of Thursday evening's expected weather could also be severe, threatening potentially damaging winds, hail and locally heavy downpours as well as frequent lightning during the evening commute.
