Today's #alumnispotlight is on Mark McKenzie! A graduate of the #classof2017, Mark sets the tone for those around him both on and off the pitch. While he is regularly known to lighten the mood (check his Halloween costume from senior year; he also joins tomasromero10 as one of our resident tie experts), Mark takes soccer and academics seriously. In addition to playing for philaunion, he is currently pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Sport Management from snhu. Mark was also an Academic Deac of the Week during his freshman year at wfuniversity, where he enjoyed an impressive postseason run with wakemsoccer.

Mark earned his first usmnt senior team cap in February with fellow #yscacademy alum baaronson7, and has worn the captain's band for numerous usmnt U-20 performances, including their World Cup run.

Mark is an outspoken advocate for equity and social justice. Never one to shy from utilizing his platforms to bring light to issues of injustice, Mark has served on several panels highlighting representation and inequity in professional sports, specifically around issues of race. He was also featured by nike last year in their annual #BeTrue campaign. We are so proud to call Mark one of our own.
