For this #TattooTuesday instead of a tattoo, we’ve been asked to make an #FSUPopLit recommendation for a song: “Jolene” written and originally recorded by the great Dolly Parton. “Jolene” is a fervent plea of a lovesick woman, begging another not to take her man even though she has obvious charms and aura that would make the task rather easy. It’s a bold and audacious play of desperation that is fascinating to listen unfold.

The book recommendation for this week is not quite as desperate but it does involve a love triangle between two sisters, with a gentleman caught in the middle. “The Viscount Who Loved Me” is the 2nd in the #Bridgerton series which had a resurgence in popularity after the Netflix series took the ‘net by storm earlier this year. It features the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony. As the Viscount, he must marry and decides that beautiful and proper Edwina Sheffield is the perfect candidate. Unfortunately, his older sister Kate has something to say about that as she wants her sister to marry for love and not a rake like Anthony. As you can imagine, chaos, scandal and hijinks ensure which just might lead to love. Find it in our online catalog at bit.ly/3hooCkx
