The Integration Statue is a cherished figure on our campus. Doby Lee Flowers, pictured in 1970, is one of three figures immortalized in the statue. In 1970, Flowers won FSU’s Homecoming Queen becoming the first Black Homecoming Queen in the history of FSU. 👸🏾

To learn more about FSU's history, follow the Florida State Heritage & University Archives on Facebook! All month long they have shared materials honoring the voices and experiences of Black students at floridastateuniversity.
