Since 2015, Anne Pasternak has been the director of the Brooklyn Museum, where she has been an advocate for the democratic roles cultural organizations can play. Previously, Pasternak led Creative Time, an organization that funds public projects by artists like Nick Cave, Paul Chan, Jenny Holzer and Kara Walker. Her Creative Time projects also include Tribute in Light, the annual memorial on 9/11 that illuminates the sky above the former World Trade Center site. ⁠
