How do humans and AI work together in war? In this episode of Code & Conflict, Ret. Major General Mick Ryan explains human-machine teaming on the battlefield and how agentic AI is changing the way militaries fight.

Ryan wrote one of the first major reports on human-machine teaming. He breaks it into three categories: humans paired with robots, humans paired with AI, and humans merged with technology through exoskeletons, wearable sensors, and neural implants. The most advanced progress is in human-AI teaming.
