Is Picking Out New Glasses As Fun For You As It Is For Me? I love going to the eye doctor. But I love going to all doctors. I need a shirt that says “preventative medicine is my jam”. Well, I also love jam… Don’t neglect your eyes. One of the best parts of an eye exam is getting a new pair of glasses!  The other best part is seeing all the fun stuff with eyes around the office. Ophthalmologists always have the best sense of humor.  In fact - my doctor was hilarious when he told me I need reading glasses. 🤦🏻‍♀️ But back to the frames. I love looking through all the new styles, colors, and shapes. I get them based on the insurance wave whenever they’re covered. It’s not every time so it’s exciting when it happens! Here are my time saving tips for getting new glasses: Tip #1: Ask which frames are covered by your insurance before you start looking. This saves time and protects your heart from the ones not meant to be.  Tip #2: Start looking and trying on new frames while you wait for the doctor. Same with making your next appointment. It saves you time but also saves you from forgetting to make your next appointment if you run out once you’re done.  Tip #3: Try something new! This is your chance for a new face! I love going dark if I went light last time, or thick to thin. If your new prescription is similar you can get away with using both so it’s like a fun new accessory that you have carte blanche to pick.  If your prescription changes drastically and you can no longer use your old frames consider donating them.
