An important message for The University of Alabama’s incoming freshman class, UA 2024:

Tomorrow begins the next chapter of your academic career and we want to be among the first to congratulate you on this milestone. Over the last few months, you’ve overcome tremendous challenges and we thank you for your patience and understanding as we all learned to navigate a global pandemic. We hope your time at UA is filled with academic achievement, community and professional success. We want to leave you with 4 tips:

1. Utilize all of the academic and career services available to you: On campus resources such as the Capstone Center for Student Success and the Career Center are here to help you achieve your educational and professional goals.

2. Remember why you are here: Once the semester gets started, it usually flies by. Please keep in mind the goals you have and continue to be dedicated to excellence. Study for tests early, they will be considerably different than your tests may have been in high school. Start the semester off strong so you’re not trying to catch up later on down the line. Keep up with the dates listed on your syllabus and stay on track of everything.

3. Make the most of your time here: Get involved and enjoy the Bama experience! Participate in Weeks of Welcome events and truly immerse yourself in your new home. UA has 600+ student organizations, find one or two that interest you — this is a great way to build community and meet other students on campus.

4. Call your parents, family + friends: They are cheering you on and hoping for you to succeed, but they will also miss you. Invite them to attend Family Weekend 2020 in September, so they can explore your new city with you!

Whether you are beginning your UA journey virtually or on campus, we are glad to have you as a part of the UA community. You’re no longer #BamaBound, you’re officially a UA student and we couldn’t be more excited for you! Congratulations and as always, #RollTide.
