A picture is worth a thousands words, but sometimes there are thousands more that need to be said (I'll try and limit it to a hundred or so). I have been fortunate enough to do a lot of shows all over the world, but calling ilivesoulfest a show would be an understatement.
.
.
It's a community... assembled around a love for everything soul. Huge shout out to Jayy ILive and Patrick O. Morris for creating a space where this music can flourish in Toronto.
.
.
What the pics won't tell you is:
.
.
Crème brûlée clownin' with omar_lyefook markdeclivelowe zo3hree5ive & luciadee at dinner.
.
.
A personal listening session with jsoulmusic for his killing new project... and a marvel movie shawarma moment.
.
.
Buildling with floacist about the industry and so many other things I can't wait to unpack in the near future.
.
.
Forming a supergroup with carmenrodgers and Omar she so lovingly coined D.O.C. (Darien Omar Carmen).
.
.
Finally meeting lisabantonmusic who herbmiddleton1 has been telling me about for a grip.
.
.
Linking and chopping it up with my brother akasubliminal after far too long.
.
.
"Negotiations" with deep_in_the_6ix
.
.
Photo session with the beautiful and talented official "Straight UP!" dancers therealmisskerr and the massage chair madam dingolaydance.
.
.
Connecting with folks all the way from DC including fellow soul sis teishamariesing
.
.
Meeting great new talent in Toronto including krystalvoice & angelanethersole.
.
.
And so much more......
.
.
So I want to thank ilivesoulfest and all the folks involved (including the many volunteers) for their hard work in providing good earth for seeds to be planted. Looking forward to the future fruit that will come as a result.
.
.
Looking forward to the future movements in my second home of the UK with Jairzinho Morris.
.
.
And a super big shout out to therecipeeband for holding down the performers ALL night!!
