I finally made it out to Taste of Vegan, and from what I can tell they’re one of the few vegan places left in Charlotte now. Everything on the menu is vegan, and they have some unique items, so there’s something for everyone.

My favorite was the soul food bowl with crispy fried oyster mushrooms, mac, yams, greens, and rice. I also had the BBQ Ribbz made from jackfruit. Of course they don’t necessarily taste exactly like pork, but they were still a nice addition and tasted good. On top of that I got the Royal Smash burger and the loaded steak fries with cheese and vegan steak, then finished it off with their warm peach cobbler and a refresher.

They also have a 90s Costume Dinner Party coming up for Halloween on Saturday, October 31. It’s a four-course vegan dinner with karaoke and entertainment, and you’re supposed to dress as your favorite 90s movie or TV character. Tickets are at the link in their bio.

You can order online or on the kiosk inside. The menu changes with different specials, so check what they have going on before you go.
