Swatch is cleared to get back into flatwork!
..
While in his stall one night, he rolled and gained what looked like a superficial bruise on his hip. Our stall walls are stacked stone, lovely but detrimental for a 17.3 monster to get his rolls in. Further diagnostic revealed he actually strained several areas around his gluteal and tensor fascia muscles. Is that the right term? I was 🤦‍♀️ when I saw the ultrasound.  My vet promised me it would heal completely, but containing a 17.3 wild man who needs to “regularly move” but not “move too much”  every day has been h****. Every day Ive watch 1% improvement, 1% backtrack. Excruciating. I threw everything: shockwave, laser, PRP, magnawave, red light, the hours of cold hosing, hand walking . Almost every two weeks I’ve been making the 90 minute drive to his  vet, and usually a < 90 minute drive back contemplating my life.

Watching this horse flex last night without an ear flick was the best Christmas gift I could ask for.
