Summer is here and in Georgia that means if the temperature even drops a few degrees the humidity is tripled. So I’m only pulling out the coolest apparel I have!.
.
I also use smartpak ‘s guide on when it’s safe to ride and decide what time of day is best. When the temperature (Fahrenheit) is added to the humidity (%), you will have these heat stress effects and risks.
.
Below 130 = Most horses can thermoregulate
Over 150 = Hard for most horses to keep cool, may affect the horse’s ability to sweat
Over 180 = High risk – horses are unable to cool themselves properly, dangerous conditions
.
When it comes to my own apparel:
.
The Aeromesh Polo is made from a thermoregulating fabric and a micro-perforated material. I had ridden two horses by this video and was 😓 but the top is quick-drying.
.
horsepilot has released additional colors in these Aerotech breeches. I’ve not worn a pair of breeches like this material which is so breathable and has laser cut ventilation along the outer thigh. They’ve withstood a few seasons now, and stand up to horsepilot’s commitment to quality.
